No way is a female too young. My Mishka at age 8 months reacted
to
someone who was drunk and begging for money at the park. She
stood
between me and the person and growled. I was amazed and so
proud
of her. Three times in her 12.5 years, Mishka told me to be
aware of a
human and she was always correct in her judgement :) What
a great
gal she was! I still miss her!

I agree with
Judith,
We both had a breeder/friend that
advised, "always trust Your Pyr's instinct ~~They can see things
that We can't "~~I too, have had a couple of instances when one of My boys
responded,( at a very young age) , appropriately to a threat that I
had not "picked up on"~~
