[pyrnet] Care, Behavior: Sudden problem with certain flooring

Gypsy (almost 7 years old now)has suddenly developed a
problem with/fear of the linoleum tile flooring in our
kitchen. A couple of days ago, she started slipping
on the floor. It hasn't been waxed (I learned THAT
lesson years ago!), and she hadn't had any problems
with it previously. But every so often, her feet
started just sliding out from underneath her. I
checked her nails to see if they had gotten too long
and might be causing the problem, but they're fine. I
got down on my hands and knees on the floor to see if
there was a slippery spot, but couldn't find anything.
Now she's afraid to go into the kitchen - but she
needs to go through the kitchen to get into our
bedroom or go out the back door.

I put down a couple of rubber backed throw rugs, but
she won't even give it a chance. I've tried holding
her collar and walking her through slowly, and while
she doesn't slip, she's shaking the whole time and on
the verge of panic. I can't afford to carpet my
kitchen right now. Any suggestions?
