Well that is true (about the Gentle Leader) - I use regular collar most of the time in the training class. It can be hard to "switch" them over for the CGC testing.

.About the Halti or Gentle Leader. A dog cannot wear one of these when taking the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. We have found that many dogs that have been using the Halti or Gentle Leader are not able to pass the CGC test when the gentle leader is not on. In other words, they have not learned to heel or obey the owner without the halti. In our class the gentle leaders seem to be a controlling tool rather than a training tool.
