RE: [pyrnet] Thunder and Lightning

I thought Osa would *never* get over what I did to her the first weekend after we adopted her -- took her out for an evening walk on Fourth of July -- when the people out in the neighborhood started shooting off smaller fireworks all 'round, she started getting more and more skittish, and by the time I figured out this was NOT going to work for her, I was about a half-mile from home...hurried as fast as I could, but the final straw was that someone started shooting off the BIG stuff just as we passed their house -- looked and sounded like they had gotten ahold of commercial fireworks like you see at city displays -- and the first one went off without any warning about 100 feet right over our heads. BOOM! -- I thought poor Osa was going to jump into my arms and hide her face.

She runs and hides whenever the (3) parrots start tuning up, too....fortunately, none of them is nealy as vocal as most of their kind and only go off once or twice a day for a few minutes....
