RE: [pyrnet] Re: pyrnet-l-digest.20081113

Maybe she is a mix a few generations ago. Less fur to sweep up !

Both Charlie and Sweetie are full pyrs, their parents are show dogs and they are unrelated to each other, but they have told my pug to mind his manners by growling at him. They have each shown Harry their teeth and growled at him, but a few minutes later they are all curled up together. Harry is clever but a real nudge so the big dogs have needed to teach him his place in the pack as he became an adult. When he was a puppy, he got away with anything he wanted with them â eating first, pulling their tails, sleeping on top of them, grabbing the best bed â but as he grew up they put him in his place and he is ok with that. I would imagine that your dogs are just sorting out their ranking but look out for the little one just in case.

Actually Sophie has never been clipped. She has only been with us less than a week. She showed some aggresion towards my neutered male shih tzu & I have never known a pyr to do that. The people I got her from had never clipped her. They have had her from the gitgo.

Canât help with this question â my dogs had long fur right about the time I stopped carrying them up and down the stairs â 50 lbs or so.

Did they clip her?  My brother in law had sheep dogs in Florida and clipped them in the summer.  Sure was funny looking and they had to stay out of the sun anyway.

I had a lab mix named Sofee â figured the odd spelling was ok for a dog who would not have to learn to spell her own name.

How old is she?  My dogs had shorter, fluffier puppy fur but it grew out to full length as they got older â 6 months or so.

My new dog has dble dew claws on her rear legs. However she is short-haired. The people I got her from insist she is pure bred but I didn't know about this so plse tell me your opinion.

Subject: Purebred Pyr?

I have just adopted my second Pyr, Bone, from a shelter in Missouri.  He is a beautiful white dog with a grey spot on his back, and he carries his tail curled over this back.  He only has single dew claws on the back legs - not double dew claws.  Do purebred Pyrs always have double dew claws on their hind legs?  Bone is settleing in really well and he loves playing with my other Pyr, Coleene.  Bone is 18 months and Coleene is 26 months.  I think they will have a very happy life together!
