There isn't much to bark at in our semi rural
neighborhood however we do live close to an airport:

This reminds me of what happened when we got
neighbors got new dogs, when Jake was young. We shared a fence line (6
foot wood fence) with the next house. Jake had always pretty much ignored
whatever dogs were on the other side. There had been several different
dogs of a variety of breeds and Jake didn't pay much attention.
The neighbors got some new dogs and Jake hated them. He
paced the fence line. He barked all the time. I couldn't see
clearly through the fence, to find out what type of dog they were. I
could hear them and they had a strange bark. When I finally saw them, I
still wasn't sure. I thought maybe some sort of Malmute cross. When
I asked the neigbhors, they told me they were wolves! Jake seem to know immediately
what they were and that they didn't belong next door to him.
