RE: [pyrnet] Fwd: our great pyrenees

How were the wolves as neighbors? Sounds like it could be a problem if
people were afraid of them - based on the Big Bad Wolf reputation - but I
have heard that some make very good pets when with people who know and
understand them.

Did the wolves react to Jake as an adversary as well?

This reminds me of what happened when we got neighbors got new
dogs, when Jake was young. We shared a fence line (6 foot wood fence) with
the next house. Jake had always pretty much ignored whatever dogs were on
the other side. There had been several different dogs of a variety of
breeds and Jake didn't pay much attention.
The neighbors got some new dogs and Jake hated them. He paced the fence
line. He barked all the time. I couldn't see clearly through the fence, to
find out what type of dog they were. I could hear them and they had a
strange bark. When I finally saw them, I still wasn't sure. I thought
maybe some sort of Malmute cross. When I asked the neigbhors, they told me
they were wolves! Jake seem to know immediately what they were and that
they didn't belong next door to him.
