[WW] Equipment, looting, etc.

PCs are notorious looters, especially when the enemy is well equipped, or
when the heroes are in a jam and they're looking for something to
improvise with.  i would imagine that the soldier's standard issue gear
will be in the WW2 book and maybe even the typical German soldier's gear
as well, but what about surrounding areas?  That is, how much do we  know
about the day to day lives and belongings of the inhabitants of a typical
occupied French town?  How easy was it to get a hold of some petrol late
in the war?  Vehicles?  How did the natives react to the initial sight of
 allied soldiers?  Just how many civilians were moving around through
these battle grounds that, in more peaceful times, were their home towns?
