Re[2]: [WW] Weird War I?

Hello!

IMHO it would be fitting, but the idea would bog down very fast. The
very gruesome thing about WWI is that mass weapons had developed so
well, that neither side could gain an advantage.

Coming from the experience of extreme losses in life and material for
no visible gain new doctrines about mobility in warfare were developed
and employed successfully in WWII.

So in an RPG life would be really dull and death come fast. As for
movies, have a look at Galipoli (with Mel Gibson) and "Nothing new on
the western front" from Erich Maria Remarque. I believe there is an
American version of it with Ernest Borgnine and "xyz Walton".

The better alternative would be Vietnam or any other war in history.
