Let's see if the Invasion happened in London it would be possible to temporarily cover it up. Reports get to the outside of riots, looting and mass hysteria. "The work of an Alien race from Mars?" asks the newspapers. The official answer is that international terrorist Nemo released some kind of gas into the city in an effort to destabilize the UK . He was aprehended by London officials of course and life goes on. Hows that for a cover story?
