Taranto is quite important - it showed the Japanese
that a strike by carrier aircraft could disable an
anchored fleet. A lesson they put to good effect a
little later...

I am glad to hear about an all new ACW book, I was
never entirely happy with the Deadlands take on it.

The flying wing scenario sounds excellent. There were
German weather stations in Greenland during the war.
Put there by U-Boats.

In 1944 Britain started placing permanently manned
bases in Antarctica because they feared Axis vessels
operating out of secret Antarctic harbours were
attacking shipping going round Cape Horn. See
