Oh yeah, a quick PS:You can't photocopy and distribute a book under the 
OGL, because the layout and design is (almost always) NOT open content. 
Nor can you just scan it to a PDF. You have to reduce it to pure text 
first. (I have never seen any book which placed artwork under the OGL, 
though it's technically possible)

But, just to remphasize -- anything declared open content is open, 
period. It can be freely copied and distributed, without your permission 
and without you being paid. (You will be CREDITED though, as that's part 
of the terms of the OGL). Everyone who releases work under the OGL knows 
and understands this. The price of having access to everyone else's open 
content is that any work you derive from it is also open.

Thus far, no one has actually distributed the open content of D20 books 
widely. All you have is the same lameass pirates scanning books 
illegally. Probably because following the rules and distributing the 
content legally wouldn't give them the same 'thrill' from breaking the law.
