Short of making this a turn-based game, I don't see any way of fixing this! Lately I've been pining for a "slow" game. I don't think the
night is a problem as it stands. We've all just developed very short attention spans!

A "slow" game would make sure every villager is participating each day. No more coming back from lunch to find three days have passed and you're dead!

Combine "slow" with a time-limit. Perhaps 12 hours for "night" and 24 hours for "day". Yes, the games will slow way down, but I don't think that's necessarily bad!

I like the idea of a fixed time game. The schedule would be included with the challenge.

For instance:
Turns will end on weekdays only. Nights run between 10 am eastern and 11:30 am eastern. Days begin at 11:30 eastern and end at 10:am the next play day.

say you live in california. those nights are 7 am to 8:30. You don't get to work, er you don't get to your internet access until 9:00 local. So you don't sign up for that game.

same game: say you're somewhere in europe with a 5 hour time zone difference between you and NY. now nights run between 3pm and 4:30. just fine. you can get a lynch vote in right before 5pm local, and you have most of the next day to finalize your vote.

i'd say it's worth a try
