[BNW] More questions
I'm reading Glory Days, and was a bit surprised to see that the infamous
Kapitan Krieg is a Gunner. In Brave New World, we're told he's the "most
powerful" delta the Germans have who single-handedly wiped out a whole
squad of american deltas.
My question is how? First off, I find it hard to see how he could take
out both Yankee and Sparky by himself, let alone slaughter an entire
squad of deltas. Are gunners really that powerful?
Which of course brings up another question that puzzles me about the
rules. Given that all packages are the same, what makes one delta a
"powerful" example of that type? How can one be a "powerful" blaster
when all blasters' powers are the same?
And how on earth do shrinkers survive a fight? Sure they get armor, but
2 pts per size decrease doesn't seem to match the loss in size. A size 1
shrinker has 8 pts of armor, but every point of damage that gets through
is a wound! Ouch.
Lastly, in Deadlands you could only increase your die type up to d12,
then you got a +2 bonus for each level after that. Since BNW doesn't use
die types, do you just keep adding d6's? Obviously a bonus tends to be
better than another die. Is there a way for a character to purchase a
bonus? And what, if any, is the limit on how many dice a character can
have in their attributes?
Thanks.
