Bravo and well said, good sir.  Unfortunately, it seems that the fine folks
at Cybergames took the same public relations classes in college that the
folks who make Everquest and the PR guys for Metallica did.  I believe it
was called "Bludgeoning Your Fanbase Into Submission 101."  

I have to say I'm worried.  I have all the faith in the world in Shane but
I see someone who is "in charge" now talking on the list about making PEG
follow the "successful" business model of Hero Games.  Then I think back
to that big shelf full of Deadlands stuff at my local games store and the
pitiful three little Hero books on the bottom shelf in the corner that can
barely be read for the dust they've collected.  Add to that the fact that
they lost John Goff which is the Deadlands equivalent of Lennon and McCartney
parting ways and it looks like troubled times ahead.  If anyone can pilot
this ship to dock, it's Shane but I'm not sure he's ever going to be allowed
to steer again.
