RE: [DL] help!!

Hey!

What is wrong with you guys? Why is killing off PC's such an ambition?

To me it sounds like Adams players are having fun - why change that? Adams
obligations is to entertain the players - nothing else. I do not think
that Deadlands should be all dark and gritty - that would not mix well with
the humor it also contains. It should be a mix of adventure, humor, terror
and the grotesque. And most of all - it should be fun for his posse.

Killing PC's should never be an ambition in any RPG (well - maybe in
Paranoia).
Keeping them on the edge of the chair of course should. Keep throwing stuff
at them and tell a good story. And when one of their hopefully memorable
character finally ends up below ground - consider to bring him back
harrowed.

There is no fun in rolling characters all the time (I tried that in CoC).

Now and then a PC deserves to die: He is just too stupid or stubborn. That
is
fine, and even the player is not that surprised when it happens. Apart from
that, I do not think you should actually deliberately try to kill your
players.

The above is of course just my opinion and not meant as flame bait. Play
style
differs :->

You know, Stone is only one man. If not run correctly, he's a pushover.

BUT, if you run him correctly, however... Think like you would if Stone was
_your_ PC.
I did, and the posse was lucky to survive.

Stone is a bad, bad man. =)
