Re: [DL] The old Powergamer question

In my current game, the character is
revived from an older game of mine, where he burned down a town and killed a
dozen or so people, and got away. Now, he's wandered for a year(the old game
was back in '76.), and wound up in this new game.

In a game revolving around heroism, how did he convince you to let him play
the character with a history such as what you mentioned.  This guys should
have had the rangers or Marshalls after him at the very least.  Granted the
faked death might slow them down, but would it really stop them in the world
we know as Deadlands?

My suggestion is as for putting his character on a low profile....  Send the
Agency/Rangers after him.  After all they know about harrowed.  ;)   Just
because he isn't one doesn't mean they would know that.

Second, you might want to discuss with him what might motivate his character
to "straighten up and become more heroic"  a life changing incident type
thing.  If he is uncooperative remind him that this is a game about heroes
and that you consider beating other PC's to a pulp for no reasons and then
not killing just to keep the Marshall from kicking you out of the game is
just as bad if not worse than killing.  After, IMHO it sounded like he was
mocking you but I wasn't there.

As for the cheating. You have two options.  Expel him, or put hinm on a tight
least.  RIGHT BESIDE YOU.  and WATCH wevery die roll and never let him touch
the action deck.

Just my thoughts.
