Quick question -

Page 61 - PHB - "Taking 10:  When you are not in a rush and not being 
threatened or distracted, you may choose to take 10. . .  Distractions or 
threats make it impossible for a character to take 10."

I would say that having a manitou trying to swallow your soul, possess your 
body, and/or make your head explode counts as a distraction, if not an 
actual bona-fide threat.
