Re: [DL] keeping players alive

Just a few thoughts,
1) give out chips during combat, especially to the
players who don't just stand there and spend chips to
suck up damage while making no attempt to roleplay
any attempt to not be hit.

2) thier is no rule stating that you can't spend the
marshall chips to save the players asses, especially
if you have a NPC do the saveing and spend the chips
for them rather then the player. It helps if you give
out a lot of red chips, the players will be reluctent
to use a red chip to stop a 1 point wound and when
they do spend them for other things you can restock
your pot to make up for saveing the players.

3) thier is Mad science armor for those who want to
wear it, and stapping a pot iron stove lid under a
poncho is classic western. (would probally only count
as armor for one shot, or lose a point of armor for
every shot it takes, cast iron is pretty brittel
which is why they make thick in the first place.)

4)Fudge your damage dice, subtract a point of wound
and add a extra die of wind. This keeps damage
somewhat realistlic but less deadly.

5) Have NPCs join the group for the upcomeing fight
and let them suck up the worst of the bullets.
