Re: [PyrNet-L] Pyr puppy wanted

In a message dated 98-03-23 18:46:41 EST, you write:

<< What I said is
that the owners of the mother of the litter that Albert came from was not in
it for the money (profit) & only charged for her expenses of shots, worming,
and neutering, thus was able to charge less >>

It came across that way and additionally your post had another reference to
profit and money that seemed to imply that breeders are somehow greedy. What
will happen to those people who can only afford a small price when something
happens that requires big expenses? Will they abandon these dogs? Will they
have them put down as opposed to paying the vet bills? Will they get a second
job in order to pay for the dog? Tell us what you think the "average person"
would do? Will they put up a fence only for the safety of the dog? Will they
spay/neuter their dog? Will they give it heart worm preventative all its life
as needed in the area that they live? Will they keep it and its environment
free of fleas, ticks, etc.? If they needed knee surgery or achilles heal
surgery would they pay the $600.00 to $1000.00 (maybe more?) for surgery? I
speak not of you but the average person with very little if any disposable
income or a spouse who refuses to allow the taking of this money away from the
rest of the family.
