Hi Sue, Could he have maybe been licking himself a lot....I had a dog that licked his groin to the point where he had a really bad dermatitis and everytime he moved his hind legs he screamed in pain and fell over. It was horrible. Finally I put a collar on him and it cleared up. Karen
