[PyrNet-L] Citronella collar

Good evening,
For those who use the citronella anti-bark collar, in particular the one
distributed by ABS (Animal Behavior Systems) this is for you. 

We purchased ours in March of '97 & have been very happy with it, but
noticed lately that while it still functioned it had a tendancy to eat
batteries, at $5 a pop no less (note: THIS IS NOT A SHOCK COLLAR). I
contacted ABS (even though the collar was only warranted for 1 yr) to see
if this was something that could be repaired. I was told to look at the
back (diaphram side) to see if there was a "bulge" & if so if there were
any fissures in the plastic case in that area. Well, there was a bulge & it
did have fissures. The lady in customer service advised that this was due
to a manufacture's defect & that in this case the collar would be replaced,
despite the fact that the warranty had expired. 

If any of you have this collar & are having any problems, or even if you're
not, & the case has a bulge in it, contact me privately & I'll give you the
ABS toll-free phone # & contact person's name. They sent a new one out to
me within 48 hrs. of receiving the defective one I returned.
