Re: [PyrNet-L] Carolyn Hardy

Many years ago I gave Carolyn a tape recorder and asked her to talk to
it as if it were to me. I keep reminding her about it but no tapes yet.
I thought I might write Her Memoirs when I get old as her life is so
much more interesting than mine. At this she laughs and says "We'll
see". There is so much more to Carolyn than just her involvement in
Pyrs, which I'm sure is true of everyone. I have heard many, many of the
stories from her and perhaps someday I will have time to post some of
them here. But for now just let me say that she was very important to
the breed and to all who's lives she touches. Mine especially. I could
not ask for a better or more loyal friend and I love her dearly. She is
a wealth of knowledge on the breed and it's history. She's been in the
breed for well over 30 years. She knew Mary Crane and Edith and Seaver
Smith as well as many others. She is quite the character and on more
than one occasion I have told her she is incorrigible! At this she just
laughs. Betty VanArsdale once told me that Carolyn was the Mae West of
the GPCA! Sometimes I think she was right! We are all the better for
having known her. Although I got my first 2 Pyrs elsewhere I got my
first sound temperamented Pyrenees from her. He was 8 on Dec. 3 and I
love him with all my heart. I thank her for my Bo and Molly (whom she
also bred and is now 10.5) and for their daughter Chelsea. If anyone who
doesn't know her gets the chance to meet her sit and talk awhile. You'll
learn a lot and be well entertained. Merry Christmas to all!
