Jodi and Steve: Great story! Bailey is one lucky fellow.

My first Pyr sighting was outside a supermarket in Pacific Palisades, CA in
1986. My sister and I were about to enter the market when we saw a very
large beautiful, and very fluffy, white dog tied to the bicycle rack by the
door. The market's security guard was standing next to him. I had no idea
what breed the dog was at that time, but he was so appealing and loveable
that you wished you could just run up and give him a big hug. It wasn't
until several months later that I happened to see a picture in a magazine of
a Great Pyrenees (a breed I had never heard of before), showed it to my
sister and we both agreed that must have been the same breed of dog that we
saw at the market. From that time on we read everything we could find on
Great Pyrenees, attended dog shows, met and talked with breeders and
handlers, and in 1988 we each got a puppy from the same litter. Thus began
our "love affair" with the breed.
