Re: Re: [PyrNet-L] Health: Care: Snakes

In the event you've never lived in South GA (county residence, six miles
from the nearest "village"), you may not know that a baby's first gift is a
shotgun. Seriously, guns are legal--mine are registered and I have a gun
permit for the county in which I live. Georgia may have some laws you don't
understand or like, but they're in place.
One comes to mind in particular--if a dog strays onto your property (or any
animal--cat, horse, etc.)--if they do harm to your crops or animals, you are
perfectly legal to shoot them. Many dogs (including the hunting deer dogs
that are left behind every hunting season) meet this end.

I don't make the laws--they're just here.

I am extremely careful to insure Raider never leaves the property without
me. Since he's the only Pyr for hundreds of miles, everyone knows who he
belongs to. I try to make him as safe as I can--fences, gates,
companionship, microchip. However, if anyone is bent on destroying an
animal, it can be done. Those people are then dealt with accordingly down
here.
