It is so sad. We see alot of this in cats and dogs in the clinic. We had a 
extremely obese longhair older cat come in today for a yearly bath and shave. 
He was new to the clinic. He was so matted it took us nearly two hours to 
shave him. Not to mention three people to hold him down. I was quite ill. And 
when the owner dropped him off, they went on and on about how the cat was 
"their baby". Yeah.
