Re: [PyrNet-L] Need advice:

Judith, when we got Bear home from the rescue (we had to board him for 3
weeks because our new house wasn't finished when the builder told us it
would be-but that is another story). He didn't mind messing himself and our
house. We finally figured out that he did ever so much better in his crate
at night in our bedroom. He still barks like a maniac at the cyotes at
night. Sometimes it sounds like they are talking to him. but he is much
better about sleeping since we put his crate in our bedroom-very crowded in
there- but he likes it so we do too. Advice I got on this list for tolit
training was to keep him on a leash next to me all day long and talk him out
whenever and don't let him out of your sight. that way you can catch him
sniffing or circling or squating etc.. I started using key words and after
he sniffs every single blade of grass he will go (usually). Now he gets
into his crate in the day time whenever he wants to be alone and nap. good
luck. One last thing. Once I bawled him out over a mess and that night he
has diarrhea. I figured it was nerves since he was in my sight and couldn't
have gotten anything strang to eat. Deanna
