It's so easy to be more lenient with our rescues, especially if we 
know some of their background.  But an unruly pyr is a handful to say 
the least.  I tend to be more lenient with Rita, but there are some 
things she just must do. I find that when I insist she behave, she is 
more consistently a better behaved dog. I enjoy her more, she seems 
to be happier.  At least she never holds a grudge when I ask her to 
obey.
