Re: [PyrNet-L] shock collars and walking off lead

Brandy, may I ask how long you would expect a dog to be treated with a
pinch or shock collar? Is this a lifetime method? I ask because we need
to be more careful when we compare treatment of dogs to children.
Although I basically agree they both have the right to the same love and
care in life. Dogs develop so much faster, and the way they participate
in life is so much different, would you be having your dog, at say, an
equivalent age to yourself, be wearing a shock or pinch collar? Do you
always think of dogs as children, or do you reach a point of
acknowledging them as adults in their species, and afford them the
respect they deserve as such? I think that is why Doug made such a good
point! Cindy.
