Doug, none of us who use shock collars love our dogs any iota less than 
you.We all come from varying experiences with our pyrs and I would venture to 
guess that those of using a shock collar are using it as the LAST resort 
after trying everything, even motivational training. I also would venture to 
guess that the pyrs who wear shock collars do not love us any less than those 
not on collars. The amazing thing about the collars is that you only need use 
them a couple times to get the desired behavior and after that the dogs know 
what is expected on command.These particular dogs are much happier, I 
believe, and I KNOW I amas the owner.One other comment-the shock delivered is 
not as if they are being electrocuted.It is rapid and truly not that 
painful-just surprising.I tried it on myself before my pyr.
