[PyrNet-L] new addition to our pyr family *G*(kinda long)

We now have a new addition to our pyr family. I was on my way home from work
& saw this adorable puppy wandering down the interstate & was afraid she
would get hit by a car so i stopped & after 20 minutes of coaxing (glad i
always have treats in my vehicle *L*) she finally came to me. She had ID
tags so I called the vet clinic that her tags were from & we tracked down
the owners. Apparently while talking to them, they decided she was to much
trouble & did not want her back, she is a 9 month old Saint Bernard/GP mix
named Hardy. She is quite the little character *L*. So to my husbands
surprise we now have adopted Hardy into our family & she is fitting right
in. She & Maya (my pyr) get along great. I believe she actually wore Maya
out, never thought i'd see the day when Maya (who will be 1 year old on the
14th) would be worn out *L*. So now we are up to 4 dogs. I've promised my
husband no more *G* that is until another dog i find needs to be rescued
*L*. He's now told me that i can't argue with him when he trades in our mini
van (which we traded for when we got Maya so she'd have more room to move
around when we travel) to a larger version. anyways, hopefully i'll have
pictures up soon on a web site of all our girls. I can't see what the
problem is of why they wanted to get rid of Harley, we've only had her for a
couple of days now, she's completely housetrained & has already learned the
sit & down commands & comes when called..maybe she can teach Maya that one
*L* or atleast get Maya to see how the proper way to respond to the come
command is..so far Maya believes it to mean " go sit in the middle of the
yard & stare at the person giving the command, then when your human walks
out to get you run behind the big tree & play tag, only let them get close
enough to barely touch your fur, then high tail it over to the next tree".
sorry for the long email *S* I just had to share the plight of our new Hardy
girl. To be honest, while talking to the owners I believe Hardy was let
loose to find her own way in the world, I'm just glad I saw her & was able
to bring her in. Now we are working on getting her to fatten up, she was
just skin & bones, you could see her little ribs & hip bones sticking out,
it was so sad..but she definitely enjoys her treats & food so i'm sure
she'll be packing on the weight soon.If anyone has advice on ways to add a
little extra to her diet to help her put on weight I would appreciate it.
