Stephanie, most of the time it is looked down upon in the ring.  I guess
the degree is determined by the judge.  Outside the ring it seems they
could virtually kill each other and no one would question their
temperament?  Terriers are supposed to be spunky(?), and a judge will
often ask for a controlled show of " attitude".   Cindy.
