[PyrNet-L] the Witch, the Husband and the Wardrobe!!

Just to lighten things up a bit after the sad story of the much loved Ernie
and all the Rescue problems that seem to abound, I went shopping today!
The usual Wednesday food/dog food shopping, banking, juggling funds, a very
stressful weekly outing for me but someone has to do it. Wasn't expecting
any visitors ( but we were quite "tidy" just incase) and the wearer of the
shorts was due to start work at 3pm. Been a few home interior renovations
in this elderly Featherston cottage lately, ( do you know we cannot add any
legal exterior things here without the approval of the Historic Trust!!!) .
Well that's his excuse anyway. Imagine my horror (again) on returning home
only to find that when I went to hang my respectable going out trousers up
to find that I had to leave the room I was in and walk into the next room to
do the hanging of!! When I left at 9am I had a "wardrobe" in this room,
when I arrived home at 1pm, I did not!! There was just a blank wall. In
the room next door there was a large gap in the wall and all my clothes
hanging inside the gap!! There was also the heavy smell of burning oil and
burnt wood. Lying on the floor was a pile of very elderly timber and the
chainsaw!! Now if you looked closely you would expect all your clothes to
be the opposite way around having been removed and rehung? This would be a
natural thing to do, remove all the clothes and shoes, hack through wall
and rehang clothes etc?? A very unnatural act took place here I think. My
clothes were exactly as I left them at 9am!! So, what happened?? Why he
just fired up the chainsaw and cut this big hole through the wall. He
disturbed timber that has been there for 100 years. He has probably put the
Borer (woodworm) breeding program back another 100 years and I probably
have clothes as Ronda said with just the one sleeve!! I am too scared to
look at my clothes. Many of these clothes I do not wear anymore but they
are my friends. I look at them and I remember things. The last dress my
Auntie Mamie bought me, she clothed me from birth til 1990!! She's too old
(95) to buy my clothes any more but I keep them to remind me of her in
Scotland. The black wool and leather jacket I foolishly paid $800 for in my
days as a big earner of money. I look at it and think how stupid I was with
white dogs!! The black and gold top my twin bought me in Holland so she
wouldn't feel ashamed of me when we went "cruising the night spots". The
lovely outfits I wore in my youth when I showed my beautiful Reggie. What a
pair we were and just a mass of dash as they used to say in the Dog World
here. The outfits I wore to work years ago. All there just to remember the
good old days. I took my shoes off when I came home and "threw" them in the
wardrobe as I am wont to do, they bounced back and nearly blacked my eye!!
I wonder if the local "Op Shop" up the road takes one armed jackets, blouses
and sweatshirts? Are mini skirts back in fashion? This man cannot be trusted
on his own.
