Re: [pyrnet] Re: Grooming fee

Daisy went to PetsMart once for grooming (a bath, really). This was when I first got her and she had either been shaved or blown her coat. It cost about $50, and that was without drying. I "groom" her myself now. I've found the best way to wash my pyrs is on the back deck. It's a story off the ground and has no stairs to the yard so they can't jump off or run down there to roll on the ground. We bought a garden hose just for dog washing and hook it up to the utility sink in the laundry room so they're able to have warm baths. Don't know what I'm going to do during the winter months ;-). Grooming is hard work but I enjoy it ... everything but that anal sac thing. The vet takes care of that. I'm still nervous about trimming nails too short too.

Give your location when talking about grooming fees. I know a CO
groomer who charges $20 for pyrs, Petsmarts in NM and So CO charge by
the pound, $1/lb for large dogs. Groomers here in Taos charge $75
for a pyr I had my first pyr groomed a few times, even taking her
in brushed out well, I was charged $60 for a bath, dry and nails. If
I could get mine groomed for $16, I'd quit doing it myself .
