It also helps to see any littermates of both sire/dam & grandparents.......it 
could be that the best show dog was the only show quality in that litter.    
You can also check OFA results for sire/dam & their littermates as well as 
the grandparents - providing that the breeder does OFA and her puppy buyer 
did so as well.    

Just a note..you can have the best of the best and hope for the best but it 
is no guarantee.
