Re: [pyrnet] LGD's

Hi All,
Just joined the group, great to find a group without trolls. When our
"Gypsy Rose" hit her first heat, I started searching and reading as much as
I could about the Pyr's and found a great article on the net about a
controlled experiment w/ Pyr's and brown bears.

We love our "Big Gyp" and have been researching her bloodline as much as
possible, as we wish to breed her on her 3 heat. I understand the need to
breed with the best sire available w/o a history of genetic faults. The
question I have is the almost "fanatical" response to anyone who is not a
professional breeder. (I wish that I could dedicate my life like that) If
someone is a responsible "hobby" breeder", what's the problem? I'm not out
to make a buck, but believe a female that has been breed at least once turns
out to be a better mannered, mature dog.

Thanks again for the informative message threads. I learn something
everyday and hope to continue to.
