Re: [pyrnet] jumping

<<My exuberant and people-loving 18-month-old female Rosie has not learned
not to jump on people. We've tried the basic methods we learned in obedience
class, twisting the body, kneeing her when she jumps, but she doesn't
experience these as corrections. Any advice?>>Alison Watkins

Instead of teaching her 'not to jump' how abot teaching her to 'do something
else'? You could, for instance, teach her that if she wishes to be patted
or recieve attention, she must sit first. If she doesn't sit, turn away and
ignore her. When she sits, lots of praise, pats and even a favourite treat.
If you are consistent with this and do it every time, it shouldn't take her
too long to catch on.
