I try to look objectively at what the judge puts up, and after reviewing
the video tape of the show, if the judge was a complete idiot, then their
name goes on my "never again" list.  However, like Barb said, there may be
other circumstances that have caused the judge to put up another dog.  

Regarding talking to the judge, someone suggested that you get a "neutral"
party to approach the judge, and make it known that they are not owners. 
Ask the judge what he/she liked about the dog they put up, and what their
opinion about the other dogs.  Don't know if this is would work, but it
sounds reasonable.
