Re: [pyrnet] Separation anxiety in re: neutering

Terry, Terry, Terry, "Women are so quick to emasculate their dogs" ? :-).
Are there hidden problems here that you are relating to and just using
the dogs as an excuse??
My dogs are both spayed and neutered, is it ok to spay, but not to
neuter? I do it because I consider it morally objectionable to the
senseless and needless slaughter of 6 million animals a year. The other
things are just added benefits.

What is responsible about letting " boys be boys" and adding more dogs,
that add to the population of those being destroyed? As was mentioned,
there is nothing natural about any part of the world of dogs. What is
the correct number of times a male may exercise his maleness? A few
times for breeding? Whatever he wants, after all...he's a male, and we
don't want to take his fun away?

I think your version of mutilation is sad. So in effect what your saying
is that men with testicular cancer, and having them removed are just
mutilated men? Shame!

It may be that dogs are even more free to be the wonderful creatures they
are, because it takes their focus off that one thing, and allows them to
enjoy life in the way that dogs have a tendency to do. Let's remember,
sex is only a small part of life in general. Part of a dog lover's
pleasure is seeing the joy in the way a dog deals with life, and it
reminds us to take the time to enjoy the world more. I have never seen a
spayed or neutered dog enjoy life less because of no sex. On the other
hand, if millions of animals don't have to die, they may get to enjoy
life too. Frankly, I have got to wonder what is really going on with men
who won't take responsibility for population control, ours or others!
IMO Cindy
