I am happy to hear the pyrs are slow to mature on the West coast. Seems many
if not most of the pyrs here in the east are very fast to mature.
As for slow maturing pyrs and longevity I like to think its tips the scale
in our favor to wait it out rather than breeding pyrs that mature quickly.
