Re: [pyrnet] Eerily Quiet!
Eliza, Olympia, and my family have just moved from Houston to the north
Dallas area. I treated them (the dogs) to a professional grooming while the
movers were doing their thing. They enjoyed the four hour drive from one
city to another and then were able to "relax" in a kennel for three days.
Talk about disrupting their lives! We are pretty much settled in now,
although I'm not sure that any of us quite feel at home yet. As a teacher
about to start a new job, I have to return to work in a week and will worry
about them here without me during the day. I'll probably stress about it
much more than they will. After 25 years in my previous neighborhood, I was
never too concerned about the dogs barking in the backyard. But as new kids
on the block in a seemingly very quiet neighborhood, their barks seem to
echo. What fun they have barking at the jets as they pass overhead going
into DFW and letting all others in the neighborhood know they have arrived!
We've established a nice walking pattern in the evening and tonight
discovered some cattle had been moved into a field outside the subdivision -
only in Texas! Cindy, you are right, it is quite hot here during the day.
But I think mornings and evenings are much nicer than in Houston. Anyway, I
am glad that the computer is up and running now and I can go back to my
lurking.
