I'm so sorry to hear about Angus. It's hard to have to put a loved animal
to sleep for any reason.

As for Newman, we have a crate for him (now) and use it sometimes, but for
the most part, the bathroom with a baby gate across the door has taken the
place of the crate most times...even though if he "really" wants to, the
baby gate won't keep him in. He has taken over the area under the counter
as his "den", and we use both the crate and the bathroom for his "time
outs" and for when we leave. He sleeps in the bathroom at night, and when
we're gone for longer than an hour or two. He seems perfectly comfortable
in either. Thankfully, he hasn't chewed anything up in the past month and a
half. I think he's finally beginnng to get the idea of "yours, mine, and
ours". Socks are still in dire danger, however.

He's busy playing with my 21-year-old son right now. John will "roughhouse"
with him, and he loves it...ah...ah...there goes that "Pyr paw"! He likes
to "pet" you.
