I have a Riccar -- it is good on carpet -- not as good on the tile and
vinyl, despite what the sales guy said.  It is suppose ot automatically
adjust. The Riccar cost around $350.  My Kirby is about 5 years older then
Barb's it had begun to wear out -- I decided to try another type.  I just
vaccum every morning. That helps alot.  But then the kids are only allowed
in a small area with carpet so it only takes me about 15 minutes.
