But then again, parvo is a 'new' virus and was not found in the wild till
introduced by domestic dogs, parasites are generally not lethal in wild
populations except in some weaker members (mange sometimes has cropped up
for example, but seems to play a population control role on the rare
occasions it does become lethal) and bitches sometimes die in whelp with all
our modern medicine too (and often need more intervention in the first
place).  Yes, mother nature is harsh and unlike us prefers that only the
fittest and best suited to continuing the population go on to reproduce. She
is however, also very good at giving them what is needed to survive and
thrive.
