i had an experience years ago with my 2 pyrs, the female only 7 months old.  
a guy slid the outside sliding door to the dining room open and stepped into 
the house to rob us.  my husband was in the kitchen cooking and didnt hear it 
happen.  my 2 pyrs went after him, the male leaping on the guy and tearing 
from his shoulder down and the female getting him in the thigh and leg.  my 
husband pulled the dogs off and later, when i called the police, the police 
said that it looked like the guy had been attacked by a lion!  and this from 
2 pyrs that had never before or after shown any aggression to man or animal. 
i was only afraid that the guy could come back (or one of his friends could) 
for revenge and shoot them while they were in the yard. it was awful and very 
very scary, something i hope we never repeat.
