Re: [pyrnet] Stinky Dog

Thanks guys - I like the powder idea - I'll go get some.? Now that I have him pretty well shaved, it is all over the long skin folds that run from his chin to his chest (How could I have not noticed this - I just don't believe it!)? I am so lucky that he likes to be combed and messed with!

I'm a little afraid to put a harness on him - the way he jumps fences I'd be worried it would get caught.? I love the harness tho, and I'm going to get one to have on hand for traveling.......Thanks

One more thing... Of course the harness still goes across his neck but it's lower than a collar. I'm not sure exactly where

Subject: [pyrnet] Stinky Dog

Hi all - today's problem is with Bad Boy "Orso" - I've been noticing lately that he smells bad - not gas from eating too many goose eggs but this time a body odor.? I know he isn't 'dirty' he swims two or three times a day.? I check his ears and they are surprisingly clean and smell fine.? I finally discover that the smell is coming from the folds of skin under his chin and down his neck.? That area is wet a lot of the time - when he drinks water he doesn't lick but scoops with his whole face and neck!!!!! (which is why I carry a towel with me every where and company runs in horror!)

I have found the problem area - it is red and sore and stinky!? So my beautifully coated pup is now shaved under his throat and down his neck - sigh!? My real problem is what to put on him as a collar - I would love to leave his collar off - but he 'frequently' goes for great adventures.? He has been wearing an 1 wide bright green collar with his name and phone number plus a tag with home and cell numbers.?

What types of collars do others use?? Has anyone else had this stinky problem - anyone use anything topical for it - I"m hoping that getting air to it will solve the problem and maybe some athlete foot cream if it turns out to be a fungus.? Living in the country and having lots of critters, I have to try to figure this out before running to the vet.

It's going to be warm and beautiful here today - hope everyone is having a great summer!
