[werewolf] innovations to speed the game

yeah, since I stopped doing those, i miss getting lynched ... "Maths votes"

the true reason i stopped doing them was I would start typing something like:

The village is perfectly safe in this position, see with blah blah blah math blah blah then tonight blah blah blah then the next day we're 45% blah blah blah then ...

and the maths would "prove" that the village had a 10% chance to win. so then I'd have to change my opening sentence and keep the maths. got old, and by hand it's a lot of work. (actually, it's a lot of work to type it up, it's not really a lot of work to scratch the chances down on the back of a scrap paper.)

Have we abandoned hope on innovations to speed the
game? It has often taken just a few slow night actors
to bring things to a crawl. Also we seem to have
collectively abandoned "fast" voting since it is easy
for the bad guys to push bandwagons over the edge.

i still like my idea of fixed time periods. The challenger sets the end time for day and night. Say, day voting is open until 13:00 eastern time monday - friday. Night votes must be queued, or collected by 15:00 eastern.

Now, If you live somewhere and your schedule is such that those are bad times for you to play, sorry. Make your own challenge with a schedule you like.

Then the turns end when they end and no one complains about a meeting they had to attend for work keeping them from voting yesterday.

I'm still having fun. I'd like to see us do a werewolf like survivor rip off game. Immunity challenges, rewards and such. It could even involve another pbem game, say backgammon. 5 players from each team challenge each other to a BG game, cube is in effect and the team with the most points wins. the other team votes off a member.

It'd be a lot of work, and no rice, so i don't know how well it might translate.
