Spoiler Space:

"The Bigger Story" is what you get told about the Reckoning in the Marshal's book. What caused it, who's behind it and what they're trying to do.

The Devil's Tower trilogy can lead to a "this is what happens if you do nothing, or do some things wrong" Deadlands setting (Hell 0n Earth). Background in HoE is far more blatant about who's been doing what icky things behind which green doors in the DL world.

The trilogy is three books (imagine that. :-) ).

The first: The Road to Hell. A fun little romp that pits your posse against a Legion-of-Doom pack of ABs in a madcap chase through the City o'Gloom.

The second: Heart o'Darkness. Your posse runs to Lost Angels, and right into the gaping maws of not one, but two of the Weird West's "heavy hitters." Events in this module are referred to in later books as "Black Sunday." You also get your first rancid taste of the glorious badness that is Stone.

The third: Fortress o'Fear. This is a box that details what's going down in the formerly off-limits Devil's Tower. It can also be a magic door for your posse and for yourself into the blasted wonderfulness that is Hell On Earth. More Stoneness here, so either be very very fleet footed, or expect to die a bullet-filled death.

Hope that was helpful.
