Re(2): [PyrNet-L] re sleeping arrangements

Our dogs don't *like* to be on the beds when we get in--I think they're
too hot! But if I leave my door open during the day, there are "Ivy
prints" on the covers at night for sure! I agree with those who are
challenging the notion that this is all dominance. I think you can easily
tell the difference. I can play on the floor with Ivy and Paddington, and
Ivy will sometimes put a paw over me, then lie down, half on me, to
snuggle. When she wants to assert dominance, it's over Paddington, and she
makes her intentions very clear! She tried a couple of times with us when
we first got her--growling when we picked up her food after she'd dumped
it over--but she learned very fast that that was not acceptable and we've
had no other incidents. I guess if it's clear from the beginning who's
alpha, they're happier, we're happier, and we can enjoy the play without
those fears and concerns.
