I know what you mean Barb, and for the most part my kids have been real
easy keepers.  I have to say, since we took the Staffy-mix in the dog has
done wonders helping my 21 year old get her head back on straight. 
Shadow goes everywhere with Kendra now ( great camping dog!)
and Kendra really worries and looks after her.  She had been a real level
headed kid right through her teens and it has only been the last year and
a half that I wondered where she left her brain.  The dog is having a
real stabilizing effect!  I do think the animals are just easy!
